WSU student’s participated Indigenous Knowledge lecture series“Indigenous Peoples and Conservation Movements: Colonial Legacy and Neo-Colonialism” from Dr. Chen Yi-fong.
Another recap from our Indigenous Knowledge lecture series!
This lecture, titled: “Indigenous Peoples and Conservation Movements: Colonial Legacy and Neo-Colonialism”, was taught by our avid baseball fan and expert hiker Dr. Chen Yi-fong. 陳毅峰
The students learned about current policies regarding conservation in Taiwan and on the international front as well.
Our WSU Western Sydney University students also learned about the effects of current conservation policies on Indigenous Peoples here in Taiwan through the case of Asia Cement Mining Company and the Truku Peoples. Our WSU student and faculty members will also visit Taroko Gorge soon, and this lecture ensures that we all are more mindful when it comes to hiking/visiting “national” parks.
