Western Sydney University attended the first Aboriginal Knowledge Public Lecture Series presented by Professor Kerim Friedman.

This lecture, taught by Professor Kerim Friedman, was titled “What does it mean to be ‘Indigenous’ Taiwanese?”. The students were given a very detailed lesson on the colonial history of Taiwan, the Indigenous Peoples in Taiwan, and the way Indigineity is shaped, defined, and recognized here.
The lecture was then followed by an insightful dialogue between the students and Professor Kerim about their own identities and lived experiences as Indigenous students in Australia.
